On February 14, 2012, prosecutors Giovanni Galati and Giancarlo Costagliola of Perugia, Italy, filed an appeal to the Corte Suprema di Cassazione, Italy’s highest court, seeking to overturn the Hellmann-Zanetti decision, which acquitted Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito of the murder of Meredith Kercher.
